Nathan S. Szanton, Managing Partner
Over the last 14 years, Nathan has been responsible for the development of several hundred units of housing. As the manager or principal partner in 15 housing projects, Nathan has successfully navigated the process of site acquisition, design, regulatory approvals, financing, construction, and marketing. A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Maine School of Law, Nathan has committed himself to creating attractive, comfortable and affordable rental homes for communities across New England.

Robert C.S. Monks
Robert C.S. Monks began his partnership with Nathan Szanton in 2002. Bobby is an active capital partner and also provides a deep understanding, gathered over 30 years, of real estate development and financing. During his professional career, Bobby has founded and partnered in a number of real estate companies, including Monks O'Neil Development, LLC; Dirigo Management Company; Richmond Corporation; The Signal Group; Eagle Point Enterprises; Northland Development, LLC and Spencer Monks Development. In 1998, Bobby sold Atlantic Bank Corp, a half billion-dollar commercial savings bank of which he was a founding partner and Chairman of the Executive Committee, to People's Heritage Bank (now TD Bank). Bobby has also been involved in numerous operating companies, including as chairman and principal owner of Proxy Monitor, a company with over 100 million in revenues and operations in 40 countries. Bobby attended Duke University and graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He also attended the Master's Program in Conflict Resolution at George Mason University.

Amy M. Cullen, Development and Asset Management Officer
Amy Cullen joined The Szanton Company in March 2006. Her responsibilities include: performing due diligence on potential real estate acquisitions; completing financing applications; and
coordinating with funders, permitting authorities, development team members, and neighbors on all aspects of multi-family residential development projects; and asset management financial analysis.
Prior to joining The Szanton Company, Amy was a Training Program Manager for the Department of Defense in Minneapolis, MN. There, she monitored and authorized spending a budget of over $50 million, led a team to plan training events for over 100 companies spanning six states, and was the technical expert on operations plans and programs. She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from Husson University.

Gretchen B. Roy, Office Manager/ Asset Management Assistant
Gretchen joined the Szanton Company in April, 2009. Her responsibilities include working with our property managers to ensure the physical and financial integrity of our existing properties: working with neighbors of existing properties on neighborhood issues; bookkeeping; scheduling and office management within the office; and marketing of new projects coming on line.
Prior to joining The Szanton Company, Gretchen co-owned a successful interstate transportation business based in Portland, which she founded, developed, and grew for over 20 years.
