Walker Terrace

1 Walker Street (corner of Congress Street), Portland, ME

This six story building opened in October 2006. Previously the site of an abandoned gas station near downtown, the project transformed the site and area around it. It also helps fulfill the city's objective to provide greater housing density close to downtown and along major arteries. The project features 40 one and two bedroom units, half of which rents to households with incomes 60% below the area median income. The other half rents at market rates. The building is the first in Maine built to Maine State Housing Authority's Green Building Standards.

The Squamscott Block

This project has 30 mixed-income apartments and 2,600 square feet of street-level retail space. The site was a large surface parking on Exeter's main retail and commercial street, where buildings have traditionally stood. The building opened in September 2007.
