Picker House Lofts will be located in a wing of the Continental Mill, built in 1855 and 1872, which housed the picker house. This is where impurities were "picked" out of the cotton before it was run through textile machinery.
Construction is expected to start in the fall of 2022. Picker House Lofts will offer 72 one, two and three bedroom apartments. The building will also feature amenities such as roof deck, fitness center, community room, weekly on-site management and coin-op laundry room. It will also include the features typical of historic New England mill buildings: high ceilings, large windows, exposed brick and prominent timber framing. Picker House Lofts is within an easy walk of Lewiston's City Hall, post office, library, parks, banks, eateries and other services.
